I met Pete through the Friends of the Library board, and although we had different political views, we had a good relationship.
I've missed talking with him since we both retired from the board.

I fondly remember Peter J. Hayes when I lived up the street from his family as a young girl in San Bruno, Ca. He was a very mild mannered, gentle & loving father & husband. When I would visit the Hayes home I remember his wife, Carol Lou, saying "Peter J. Hayes is coming home so we have to clean up" & so we would all pitch in & do just that. Thanks for the good memories I have of the entire family...Debbie, Betsy, Julie, Carol Lou & Peter.

If I were not to be east on the date of the service, I would be there to share blessings. I will always remember how Pete supported his Union reporters with heart.
