Richard Devitt Obituary
Age 62, of Grants Pass passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at his home in Grants Pass, Ore. Dick was born on July 9, 1945 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Daniel and Jewell Devitt. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War where he received an honorable discharge from the Army. Dick received two Bachelor's degrees from Pacific Union College and a Master's Degree in Theology from Andrews University. He was a Pastor with the Seventh-day Adventist Church for 16 years. Dick married Vikki Geigle on December 16, 2007 in Sacramento, California. Together they made Grants Pass their home in January of this year. He loved working as a missionary in Africa. Survivors include his wife Vikki Devitt of Grants Pass; two daughters, Daniel Devitt of Lodi, Calif., and Melissa Devitt of Washington; one brother Daniel Devitt of Grants Pass. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 9, at 5:30 p.m. at the Sacramento Central Seventh-day Adventist Church in Sacramento, Calif. Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 11, at 12:00 Noon at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Grants Pass, Ore. Please sign the family guestbook at www.stephensfc.com. I am sorry to hear about your loss. I did not really know Richard personally, but had the priviledge of meeting him at Amazing Facts broadcasts and at David and Nola Grice's home here in Sacramento.
