Robert Steves Obituary

Robert Michael Steves, age 58, passed away of a heart attack at his home in Placerville, CA on December 23, 2016. Born in Walnut Creek on October 27, 1958, he was the son of the late Norman and Mary Jo Steves. He is survived by his sister, Helen E. Becan (Christopher) and brother, Michael J Steves, both of Hayward, CA. Robert attended Moreau Catholic High School and California State University, East Bay, both in Hayward. He had a great fondness for dogs, having had many over the years. He is survived by his current dogs, Max and McDougal, two terriers that were so precious to him and him to them. Bob worked for the same software company in El Dorado Hills for almost 30 years (AmDocs). He did a fair amount of traveling, both for work and pleasure, but he most enjoyed lots of pleasure traveling all over Europe with friends. Bob participated in various spiritual organizations including Spiritual Life Center, Church of Religious Mind, and just recently the Spiritual Center for Positive Living. He was a mentor for a teen youth for several years. It was a great connection and they both impacted one another in such positive ways. He was a student of working on being a better person, expanding heart and mind. He was the most amazing friend, generous, devoted, honest, and reliable. He had incredible patience, focus, and perseverance. He did what he said he would do, and always went the extra mile for those he cared about. He loved doing projects inside and outside of his home and especially loved his yard. He beautified his home inside and landscaped with plants native to California. He often shared that he learned his many skills from his parents: to sew from his mom, and doing carpentry and electrical from his father. He has always been a fan of theater and Cabaret music, and loved the good things in life: friends, food, home and his various pets. Christmas was definitely his favorite time of the year. A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 1 to 5 pm at the Spiritual Center for Positive Living located at 3014 Ponte Morino Drive, Suite 100, Cameron Park, CA 95682, located off highway 50. Take the Cameron Park Drive Exit in Cameron Park.

I'm numb. I learned so much from him and thank you to the person who wrote the obit. You nailed it. He was my first boss at said software company and he was the most encouraging person I knew. I will miss him and his sense of humor!
