Ronald Sherk Obituary

SHERK, Ronald Christopher "Chris" June 5, 1963 - November 5, 2014 Chris was born in Reno, Nevada, the third child of Richard Sherk and Elaine Sherk Lopez. His family moved to Roseville in 1968 where Chris grew up and made numerous life long and forever friends. An outstanding athlete, Chris graduated from Oakmont High School in 1981, where he excelled in his favorite subject, Football!! After high school Chris, began his many decades long career in automotive sales and management, where he was recognized with many awards and achievements. The Car Gods shined bright on Chris and he loved every minute of it. Chris married his high school sweetheart, Patty Burrier Pistole, and together they were blessed with three beautiful children, Melissa, Chase, and Brittanie. Chris would say that "his kids are his treasures." "Living Life Large and Passionate", was a motto for Chris and he didn't wait until tomorrow. The last decade, Chris found new joys and passions - his beliefs, golf (he broke 80!), riding his Chopper on sunny days, remodeling his homes, and planning a future with his longtime girlfriend, Yvonne Nelson. The stars were always shining on Chris and he brightened the lives of all who knew him. Though his future was full of dreams, a loving Heavenly Father called him home. We will forever miss you Chris. Until we meet again. Chris is survived in this life by his loving mother Elaine; Children Melissa, Chase, and Brittanie; Best friend and beloved partner Yvonne; Brother Rick Sherk, and sisters Sandy Guerrero and Andrea Sherk; Aunt and uncle Marilyn and Ted Follick; Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and so many friends that any man would be blessed to have. A memorial service will be held in Chris' honor on Monday, November 17, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Valley Springs Presbyterian Church, 2401 Olympus Dr., Roseville, CA 95661, with a reception immediately following. Please share love and memories on Chris' guest book at www.cochranewagemann.com.

My Brother, I just found out today! I stopped by the Chevy Store we used to work at and was floored by the news- I looked at my phone and I had just talked to you days/hours before your departure- I didn't know bro, I will miss you bad! I know you loved the Lord, so all is good on that front- It still hurts though bro, I didn't know bro- I had some amazingly good times with you bro, in fact I bought my 1st house from you (Saginaw)- I saw your struggles but importantly I saw your victories as well (we are so much alike)- Till we meet again bro in the house HE prepares in advance for us (John 14;2-3)- I'll always love you Chris...

I am so glad I had the privilege of talking to Chris on Tuesday. Susan called Thursday and at first I did not believe her. Unbelievable! We had plans! He was to visit me in So Cal. Why? God only takes the Angels. Chris Sherk turned out to be one of my best friends. I will never forget him. He taught me a lot. It is okay Chris. We will all be together some day. We are only here on a visit. Please look up my Dad. He would love to see you. I love you. RIP my friend.

Well today I received a call - sad news, this just days after talking with a long time childhood friend asking "hey have you seen Chris lately", sadly we both said no. I had to admit that I had once had a Third Grade Crush on Chris. I always thought fondly of him and wished him well...And just days ago I was in that very chapel in Roseville to say good bye to Miss Rita McGee. Live Love - be blessed you will be missed. One of the first things I remembered about Chris after hearing of his passing, besides his smiling eyes and warm smile was his passion, thrill and no fear of life. As a kid he would ride his bicycle at full speed up and over the tire-stacked ramps we built in the middle of the street and either jump off just before it crash landed or ride the air hoping he would land safely! thus giving himself the name "Evil Knievel!" Such a nice guy. Too young to leave this Earth. My condolences to his whole family <3.

Chris you are one of the closes friends I've ever had. You were the best man at my wedding and I at yours. I have more memories of us growing up then anyone I have ever known in my life. You were with me when I got the news of Stephanie's death and all through that troubling time in my life, and I for you at the passing of your father. The backpacking trips Yosemite, Tahoe, the trip to Acapulco, the trip to Oregon, rafting on the American river...etc. You smiled & laughed more than any friend I've ever had. I could go on and on of all the memories we shared together from high school to adult hood, but then I would have to write a book. You were like a brother growing up and like a son to my parents helping yourself to what ever you could find in the fridge...LOL. I will miss you greatly, but take comfort in the fact that I know you are very happy where you are now with Jesus. Say hi to our friends over there for me and say hi to Steph. I will see you again someday my friend, and in the mean time enjoy your new life.
