Sandra L. Silva Obituary
April 13, 1948 - June 20, 2025
Sacramento, California - Sandra Lou Silva has prepared all her life for her passing to join the angels choir. She was born on April 13th 1948 in San Francisco, CA to William Francis Silva and Lillian Viola Silva. They moved to Sacramento at an early age where her dad worked in the railyards and the family resided and spent many wonderful years as East Sacramento residents. Sandra attended local schools and graduated with honors. She attended San Jose State where she earned a Bachelors and Masters degree in Drama. Sandra also had her community college instructor credentials for Theater Arts and Related Technologies awarded by the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges. She returned to Sacramento and worked for the California Department of Education where she excelled as an Education Fiscal Services Consultant for 36 years.
Sandra loved to travel, was an avid reader, enjoyed science fiction (especially Star Trek) and enjoyed learning about faraway places. Each year she would spend her vacations traveling and had the honor of traveling to all seven continents.
Sandra's other great love was singing. As a teenager and young adult she performed and helped direct several musical productions at the Fremont Presbyterian Church where she also sang with the choir. She performed with the Sacramento Opera Chorus for many years. She was always proud of the fact that she sang with the choir behind the internationally known Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli when he performed in Sacramento.
When Sandra wasn't traveling, she fostered kittens for the SPCA. Sandra loved animals as she often spoke of her dog "Frisky" that she had while growing up, as well as her cats "Shadow and Pookah". In her later years she became dear friends with her East Sac neighbors and even became a favorite of her neighbor's family dog "Rusty", who she absolutely adored. Sandra is predeceased by her parents and her half brothers Ronald A.Silva and Kenneth E. Silva.
Donations in memory, may be sent to the Sacramento SPCA or Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary, both located in Sacramento.
