Skip Johnson Obituary

Skip (Skipper) Troy Johnson, 42, born in Sacramento, CA, January 28, 1973, to Linda Hewett Johnson and Gordon (Skip) Johnson, Jr. passed into heaven on January 11, 2016 and is now resting in peace with the Lord. Growing up in El Dorado Hills, CA, Skip graduated from Oak Ridge High School, from Sierra College and attended University of Colorado Boulder. In 2003 he married Melissa Dugger and in 2004 they had their son, Troy Christian Johnson, rounding out their family was his stepdaughter, Mikayla Dugger. He loved to work with his hands and he could create something beautiful from nothing. Skip enjoyed the outdoors. He was a great athlete, running track in high school, mountain biking in Tahoe, snowboarding, wake boarding, you name it, Skip was one of the best at it and he loved to share his appetite for adventure with his son. He was a man of God, growing up in a Christian home, he carried on his passion for Christ, reading and turning to the word of God daily for strength. We loved him with all our hearts, but now we know that it was not enough to shield him from this world. On the outside he had an extreme passion for life, a sparkle in his eyes, and a quick smile, but recently on the inside he had struggles too deep to overcome. Skip is survived by his wife, Melissa Dugger-Johnson, son, Troy Johnson, stepdaughter, Mikayla Dugger, mom, Linda Johnson, sister, Julie (Andrew) Mering, and brother, Ryan (Audrey) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his dad, Gordon (Skip) Johnson, Jr, grandparents, Marie and Gordon Johnson, Sr, and Robert and Betty Hewett. He also leaves behind many grieving cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many, many, friends who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11am at Lakeside Church, 755 Oak Avenue Parkway (The Block Building), Folsom, CA. 95630. Join us immediately after for a reception to share memories & stories of Skip. A college fund for Troy Johnson has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank.

I knew Skip in high school. We dated a little my senior year and we went to prom together. I found out about Skip's passing through a mutual high school acquaintance. I am saddened that I was not able to make it to the memorial. I will always remember Skip as a genuinely kind, handsome and respectful man. May his soul finally rest at peace.

I worked with Skip at Tri Tool Inc,... always found him with a smile and great outlook on life. He would always refer to the Bible during our conversations and his desire was to live his life pleasing to the Lord. I will truly miss him and will lift up his family in prayer.

-May the Lord be gracious to Skip and all of us as we journey in this life, Paul Liashenko

Linda, Julie and Ryan I know you all will miss Skipper so very much. He was truly loved. I will miss him he was a good person and had a heart of gold. I wish I could do something to take the hurt away but I know in time maybe you will get closer to what has happened to Skipper. I'll always think of him and remember all the good times when I was around him. Prayers and Love to you all.
