I will never forget going with Big Steve and Rachel to a 49er v NYG football game years ago, when they were still at Candlestick. I'm a huge NYG fan and I received 3 free tickets. Steve was the biggest 9er fan I know, so he drove. The drive to the game and back was almost as fun as watching the game. My Giants won but Steve was cool about it. On the drive home Rachel and I toilet papered the inside of Steve's vehicle! We even toilet papered him to the steering wheel! (As best we could) We got a lot of looks from people in passing cars! Anyway, Steve dropped Rachel and I back at Ernie's Interlude where I left my car. We all went inside and since I worked there, I talked to my boss about work for no more than 5 minutes. Then Steve walks up to me, giddy as heck, and says he wants to show me something outside. We walk out to the parking lot and the outside of MY CAR is toilet papered! All the paper we used in his car was now on top of mine! So he got me back and that's how I'll always remember him.

He always had a smile and was a proud Father and 49er fan! My condolences to the family. He's with his mom now and not suffering.

Steve was always talking about football and “his” 49ers. Heaven gained a great person. RIP Steve!

This is very saddening news. Steve was always a friendly guy and a lot of fun. Condolences to his family and friends.
