Thomas Theodore Tafejian

TAFEJIAN, Thomas Theodore Our beloved father, Thomas Theodore Tafejian (Teddy), passed away on April 22, 2015 lovingly surrounded by his family. He was born in Chicago, Il. on December 12, 1927 to Naomi and Thomas Tafejian. Ted attended UCLA where he met the love of his life, Carol Hughes; they married and had two daughters. Sadly, Carol passed away on April 25, 1960 at the young age of 29. In 1976, he opened Ted's Used Bookstore on De La Vina St, in Santa Barbara, CA. He ran his bookstore for 31 years, enjoyed loyal friends, adoring customers and was well known for his kindness, intelligence, and his love of books. Ted retired and moved to Sacramento in 2008 to spend more time with family. He leaves behind his loving daughters: Tami Stoddard (Marshall), of Sacramento and Sonya Tafejian, of Petaluma and his five precious grandchildren: Torrey (Jenn), Tyson (Katie), Trey (Alicia), Justine and Tessa. His love for his great grandchildren was priceless and he called them "the babies." He leaves behind his great grandchildren: Kalyn, Trevor, Alyssa, Tommy, Riley, Chloe, Finley, Fiona and baby Oliver. Ted also leaves behind his dear friends for life: Peggy, Debbie, Karen, Mary, and his wonderful friend and caregiver, in Sacramento, Mary Santos. Ted would surely want his friends and family to go to garage sales, buy books and never stop reading!
