Timothy Boyer Obituary
November 27, 1946 - September 26, 2024
Gold River, California - Timothy Wayne Boyer passed away on September 26, 2024, at the age of 77 in Sacramento, CA. Born on November 27, 1946, in West Palm Beach, Florida, Tim was known for his loving and kind nature. He attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School, Christian Brothers/Bishop Armstrong Catholic High School, Sacramento State University and McGeorge School of Law. He dedicated his professional life to law, serving as attorney for the State Franchise Tax Board and Chief Legal Counsel for the State Board of Equalization. A proud veteran, Tim served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. In retirement, He continued his public service by serving on the Sacramento County Grand Jury. Tim enjoyed running, fishing and traveling the world with his wife Janice. He especially loved spending time and supporting his son Jeremy throughout his many school activities and professional life. Tim is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Park Boyer and his loving son, Jeremy Scott Boyer (Ladi). In addition, he leaves behind brothers, Lynn Boyer (Katherine); Larry Boyer (Ann); Matthew Boyer (Linda) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Lynn Boyer, Jr. Memorial Services will be held on October 23, 2024, at Divine Savior Catholic Church, 9079 Greenback Ln, Orangevale: Rosary at 10:00 a.m., Funeral Mass at 10:30, Reception at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I worked with Tim for quite a few years when he was at FTB, and it was always a pleasure. I recall being pleased for him when he got the BoE gig, but disappointed to see him go. But then he even helped out from there when the need arose. He was a good guy and I considered him a friend.
