Tomas LOPEZ Obituary
LOPEZ, Tomas L.
8/1/34 - 5/27/13
Born in Houston, Texas. Tomas was an outstanding basketball player at Milby High School, which earned him a scholarship to the University of Houston. Becoming a star player at UH, Tomas was co-captain of the 1955-56 Conference Championship team.
Tomas had a successful professional career, but he always valued his family. Preceded in death by his first-born, Larry John, Tomas is survived by his wife Alicia, daughter Velma and husband Mitchell, son Thomas and wife Jody; grandchildren: Melissa, Natasha, Lynda, Jessica, Kristina, Olivia, Alaina, Larry John II, and great-grandchildren: Sophia Rose and Gavin Thomas.
The family will have a private memorial ceremony before Tomas' interment at East Lawn Mortuary.

Along with Howie, I too found Tomas a charming, gentle man. He always had time to say "hello." A good educator and consultant.

I worked with Tomas for a few years and found him to be very respectful to all persons he had contact with. He was a gentle person and an effective educator. My prayers are with his family and loved ones.

Our hearts are broken, and we mourn your loss, but our faith lets us know that one day we will all be united in the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father. I pray that Aunt Alice, Velma, Tomasito and the whole family find peace and consolation in knowing this is not good- bye but see you again one day. My love to each of you, God willing we will see each other soon.

Tomas was a beautiful person. A gentle man, a wise man with a huge heart of love for his family. We are so privileged to have known him, although, all to briefly. Our love, prayers and sympathies are with his family, especially his beloved wife of so many years, Alicia.
