Tomasita TORRES Obituary

TORRES, Tomasita E.
Born August 23, 1918 in Primero, Colorado. Tomasita was preceded in death by her husband, Cruz Torres and son, Julian Pacheco. Tomasita is survived by daughters, Mary (Paul - deceased) Lopez, Linda (Gaza) Kantor, Maria (Robin) Rushing, Julia Torres, sons Joseph Torres, John (Suzan) Torres, Bernie (Vickie) Torres, Raymond Torres, Steve Torres, 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Tomasita lived for and loved her family. She found joy caring first for her children and then her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed all of the family events, opened her home and loving heart and made all feel welcome, cooking for all from which she derived great pride and joy. She loved her home where she tended to her floral garden, but also had an adventurous spirit. So when she wasn't caring for her family and garden, she found pleasure in traveling to all parts of the United States. On January 5, 2012, she departed for her final adventure to heaven to be with our Lord and family members who preceded her.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. followed by a Vigil Service and Rosary at 7 p.m. at the North Sacramento Funeral Home, 725 El Camino Avenue in Sacramento. A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2012 at Saint Philomene Catholic Church, 2428 Bell Street in Sacramento. Internment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mom was my guiding light...someone that I could turn to when times were rough, always willing to help and give advice. She was someone I could laugh and cry with.... I will miss her so much.

Tommy was my very special sister-in-law but was more like a mother. She was very loving, caring, giving and always put others first. We shared a lot of wonderful memories. I enjoyed her humor and loved to see her beautiful smile. She will always be in my heart and will be dearly missed. She will never be forgotten. Love you always!!

I am really going to miss you...you were my best friend and the best mom a person could ever have. I loved all of our time together especially when we played yahtzee...you will always hold the top score! You had the lucky hand. I treasure all the memories we had together and your loving spirit will remain in my heart forever. You were the most loving, compassionate, kind and selfless person..Love you always, mama!!
