Tsuguo Okamoto Obituary

OKAMOTO, Tsuguo
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2008 in Albany, Calif., at age 95. Born in Berkeley, Calif., he was the son of the late Ichiro and Raku Okamoto. A long-time resident of Sacramento, a veteran of the Korean War, and retired from the Sacramento Army Depot since 1981. A member of Aichi Kenjin Kai and JACL. Preceded in death by his wife, Yasuko; brothers, Kazuo and Akira; and sister, Ayako. Beloved father of Patricia (Andrew) Cherniack of Shrewsbury, Mass., Barry (Maria) Okamoto of San Ramon, Calif., Mary Okamoto of Sacramento, and Alice (Luis) Porras of Albany. Loving grandfather of Madeline, Luke, Natalia, Diana, Matthew, and Trini. Also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law Mitsuo and Haru Okamoto, and Hitoshi and Takako Okamoto, all of Sacramento; sister-in-law Yukiko Kato of Cincinnati, Ohio; and brothers-in-law Hideaki Sunayashiki and Kunio Wakita, both of Japan; as well as many cousins, nephews, and nieces. Private family services were held, with interment at East Lawn Memorial Park, Sacramento.
