Tsuyoshi Itano Obituary

ITANO, Tsuyoshi Dean
After long illness, died peacefully on February 21, 2007 at age 84, surrounded by his wife Florence; his son Steve and his daughters Leslie and Lisa. He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Dr. Harvey and Rose Itano, Edith and Frank Tanaka, Dr. Masashi and Teruko Itano; his sons-in-law, Dr. Jerry Chang and Dan Eng, daughter-in-law, Debera Reyes; and four grandchildren, Lauren and Brent Eng, and Colin and Dana Chang. Born and raised in Sacramento, Mr. Itano graduated from Sacramento High School, Washington University and Stanford Law School. Mr. Itano was a member of MIS during WWII, an attorney, savings and loan president, Sacramento City Planning Commissioner, sportsman (fisherman and duck hunter) and the most serious backyard tomato grower you will ever find. At his request, no services are being held. A gathering of his immediate family was held to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to either the Sutter Cancer Center or the Asian Community Center in Sacramento.

Dear Mrs Itano and family,
I was so saddened to hear about Mr. Itano's passing. My first full time job was working at Guild Savings and Loan. I worked for Mr. Itano for more than 13 years and during that time he taught me so much about working with the public, managing employees and banking in general. Many of the lessons he taught me I used almost daily in my 39-year banking career. He was a true gentleman that I admired greatly and will remember fondly. My thoughts are with you and your family.
