William Phillips Obituary
The notice below announcing the passing of WILLIAM PHILLIPS was printed on Feb. 17, 2010, with the incorrect photograph. It is being reprinted today with a new picture.
PHILLIPS, William
Age 88, died on February 13, at Sierra Vista hospital in California. Born in Bethlehem, Pa., William was both a World War II and Korean War Veteran. He and his wife of 65 years, Anna, eventually made Sacramento their home. He retired from McClellan Air Force Base after 33 years as an aircraft mechanic. He and his crew were honored for extinguishing a fire in a jet engine, saving both plane, personnel and structures. He enjoyed the quiet of his home which he remodeled over the years. He is survived by daughters Connie Seader (Richard) of Templeton and Linda Poya (Zia) of Ukiah; grandchildren Melanie and Darin Seader, and Cameron and Kyce Poya. The family wishes to thank the staff at Bay Osos Residential Care for their kind care. At his request, no services will be held.
