Y.W. Glazebrook Obituary


GLAZEBROOK, Y.W. (Bill)
Born January 23, 1921. Died at home September 15, 2008. Leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Lois; son, Jerry; daughter-in-law, Pam; sister, Marleen; sister-in-law, Norma; and nieces and nephews. He joined the Coast Guard in 1940 and was discharged in 1946. Joined the California Air National Guard with a full time radar technician position in 1950. He was recalled during the Korean War as Warrant Officer in the Air Force in 1951 to August 1953. From that date to 1979 when he retired, he was the owner of Arrow Floor Company. A charter member of the Carmichael Elks. Belonged to Carmichael Traveling Elks. Ambassador of Carmichael Chamber of Commerce. Belonged to the Golden Chapter of the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association, Foothill Men's Golf Club, and Wild Bunch Golf Club. Private Interment Friday, September 19, 2008. Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Remembrances may be made to Mercy Foundation, 3400 David Dr., Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 or Sutter Hospice,1836 Sierra Gardens Dr. Ste. 160, Roseville, CA 95661. Arrangements by East Lawn Mortuary 916-732-2020.

I will also remember Bill for his smile, and happy demeanor. He was a wonderful person and will truly be missed. I am glad he is with his brother and mother again, and is at peace. My love and thoughts go with you Lois and your family at this time.

I will remember Uncle Bill for the strong man he was! And that hat he wore on his hat everytime he would go for a walk when he came to St. Louis to see us. I will remember him always and miss him. I am just glad he is in heaven with Grandma, Grandpa and Dad!
