Bonnie Lee Adams, 92, of Rockwell, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025. Bonnie's family knew that when she passed, she would meet her Lord and Savior.
Bonnie was born January 15, 1933, in Rowan County, daughter of the late Roy Lee Dorton and Nora Mae Dorton. She was educated in Rowan County Schools. She worked in sewing factories in her younger years, then worked at Cannon Mills for 30 years until she retired.
Bonnie loved spending time with her family. She had a dog that she loved very much; his name was Little Man. She liked to watch TV, Westerns, and Soap Operas. She was a joy to be around, the greatest person. Life was not easy for her raising six kids, but she managed to do the best job. Her family is already missing her so much. They were all so close.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Adams; sons, Larry Adams and Jerry Adams; grandsons, Michael Adams, Michael Brown, Jr., and Robbie Shenk; great-granddaughters, Morgan Adams and Zoey Garcia; and brothers, James Dorton (Edith) and Wayne Dorton (Ruby).
Those to cherish her memories are daughters, Vickie Lane of Salisbury, Judy Lane of Rockwell, Rita Brown of Salisbury, and Jane Adams of Salisbury; grandchildren, Christy Davis (Terry) of Lexington, Cindy Myers of Salisbury, Teresa Hardin (Keith) of Salisbury, Kim Rouse (Jason) of Salisbury, Amy Rinehardt (Gary) of Gold Hill, Willie Lane (Misti) of Georgia, Rebecca Brooks (Jamie) of Stanfield, Joey Eudy (Alexis) of Lexington, Jamie Riley (Eddie) of Salisbury, and Johnny Adams of Salisbury; great-grandchildren, Heather Garcia (Fredy) of Linwood, Amber Lee (Nick) of Lexington, Johnny Myers (Tiffany) of Mocksville, Ashley Clouse of Lexington, Jeffrey Draper (Kadeizha) of China Grove, Hayleigh Gronostajski (Marc) of Linwood, Brandon Troutman (Caroline) of Granite Quarry, Camryn Rouse, Xander Rouse, Paisley Rouse all of Salisbury, Nathan Rinehardt of Gold Hill, Natalie Rinehardt of Gold Hill, Michael Carter, Jr. (Ally) of Albemarle, Alex Christenbury of Albemarle; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM on Friday, October 3, at Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Reverend Richard Myers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
