Carolyn Sue Leonard Kyles

Carolyn Sue Leonard Kyles, age 72, of Salisbury passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2018 at her residence. Carolyn was born Dec. 9, 1945 in Rowan County the daughter of the late John R. Leonard and Ruby Baggarley Leonard. She attended Salisbury Schools and worked for RAGS in Rockwell. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Kannapolis. Carolyn will be remembered as an amazing woman who enjoyed life and adventures. She helped others even before they expressed a need, and loved her children deeply. On Nov. 25, 1960, she married James Lee Kyles who preceded her in death on March 17, 2012. She took care of him during illness, right up until his death, sharing kisses, providing all his basic needs and never wavering in the task of living out “till death do us part.” She was also preceded in death by six siblings. Those left to cherish her memory and reminisce over shared memories are her daughters, Tracy Kyles of Salisbury and Sandy Cobb (Nathan) of High Point; sons. William Kyles of Salisbury and James Kyles Jr.; grandchildren, Austin and Alex Cobb; sister, Frances Edwards; brothers, Butch and Walt Leonard; a multitude of nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Miles. Service & Visitation: A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25 at Christian Fellowship Church, 1501 Central Dr., Kannapolis, with Reverend Tim Newton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Trinity Living Center, 1416 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. South, Salisbury, NC 28144, where Carolyn spent weekdays over the last two years making friends, creating artful masterpieces, playing games, and learning new things in the midst of Alzheimer's.
