Fred Sheets Obituary

Fred Sheets Sr.

CHINA GROVE - Mr. Fred Sheets Sr., 77, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Mr. Sheets was born on Feb. 18, 1935, in Ashe County, the son of the late William Roosevelt Sheets and Minnie Parsons Sheets. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Sheets was employed with G.G. Ray Construction as a Sheet Metal Fabricator. He was a member of Corriher Heights Baptist Church.

Fred was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed the mountains. He was loved by his entire family and will be missed by his sons.

Mr. Sheets survivors include his sons, Fred Sheets, Jr. and William H. Sheets, both of Kannapolis; sister Dara Miller of Ashe County; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchild.

Service: A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 17 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chris Pethel will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

Visitation: The family will receive friends 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home prior to the service.

Memorials: May be to Lady's Funeral Home & Crematory, 268 N. Cannon Blvd., Kannapolis, NC 28083 to help with funeral expenses.
