Imogene Roach Obituary

Mrs. Imogene (Jean Morton Roach 73 of China Grove passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Born on March 27, 1942 in Wadesboro, she was the daughter of the late Willie Blair and Mary Threadgill Morton. A graduate of China Grove High School ,she was a faithful member of South China Grove Church of God where she enjoyed teaching her Sunday School Class, working the children's ministry and a frequent volunteer of the missions house. She enjoyed going to the beach and family get togethers. Mrs. Roach particularly enjoyed doing her crocheting. She worked for China Grove Cotton Mills and later for Harmony Labs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her sister Alice Holder in June of 2015.Those left to cherish her memory is her husband Paul Roach, daughter Tina Keller (Darrell) of Rockwell, son Trent Shoaf (Cathy) of Salisbury, daughter Jody Lockwood (Tim) of Lexington, son Dino Shoaf (Cindy) of Salisbury, Timmy Roach of Rockwell and Jamie Roach of Salisbury. Also surviving her are her brothers James “Buddy” Morton of Kannapolis and Willie Blair Morton Jr. of Salisbury, sisters, Helen Fortner, Eunice Burris and Patricia Dellinger all of Salisbury. Also surviving her are her 8 grandchildren; Lisa Kenney, Stacy Foster, Christopher McDonald, Brent Shoaf, Holly Lockwood, Lindsey Shoaf, Desiree Roach and Curtis Roach and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6:00 til 8:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral at 2:00 on Friday at Southside Church of God with Revs. Michael Oney and Joyce Miles, ministers. Memorials may be made to Southside Church of God, 157 Columbus St. China Grove, NC 28023. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.linnhoneycuttfuneralhome.com

Paul and The Family, I am sorry for your loss. I always loved Jean. I was so shocked to hear of her passing. I am sure that my Mom was at heaven's gate along with Jean's loved ones waiting to welcome her. I will miss Jean so much. I am praying for you Paul and love you. I am here if you need anything!!
