Isaac McAdams Obituary
SALISBURY - Isaac Judson "I.J." McAdams, Jr., 87, of Salisbury died Saturday, Jan. 07, 2012 at the Brian Center Health and Retirement of Mooresville.
Born Nov. 14, 1924 in Salisbury, he was the son of Isaac Judson McAdams, Sr. and Lola Motley McAdams.
He was educated in the Spencer schools, graduated from Spencer High School and attended Pheifer College. Mr. McAdams was a veteran of the US Marines during World War II.
Mr. McAdams was employed for the Atlantic Coastline Railroad in Jacksonville, Fla. before retiring.
He was a member of Neel Road Baptist Church, and the Virgil Dominick Sunday School Class. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Spencer where he served as a Deacon and was a member of the choir.
Mr. McAdams was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue McAdams and a sister, Merle McAdams.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sarah Barber McAdams; step-daughter, Kathy Huffstetler and husband Dean of Casar; step-granddaughter, Danielle Huffstetler; step-grandson, Harley Huffstetler; great great-granddaughters, Angel and Madison, all of Casar.
Service: A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9 at Summersett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Neil Westbrook, pastor of Neel Road Baptist Church, officiating.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m. Monday at Summersett Funeral Home.
Memorials: May be made to the Salvation Army, 620 Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28144 or Rowan Helping Ministries, 226 N. Long St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
