James Shropshire Jr.

Mr. James “Jimmy” Russell Shropshire, Jr., 69, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 21, at Spring Arbor of Albemarle. Jimmy was born on July 25, 1948 in Concord to Mary Patterson Shropshire and the late James R. Shropshire, Sr. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Shropshire. Jimmy is a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served in Vietnam. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jimmy also loved to play golf and go fishing with friends. He is survived by his wife, Judy A. Shropshire; sons, Rusty Shropshire and wife, Jaime, David Shropshire and wife, Rhiannon, and Marc Shropshire and wife, Kelly; mother, Mary Patterson Shropshire; sister, Jo Ann Bratton and husband, Eric; grandchildren, Colby, Loryn, Ernest, Winnie, Saylor, Amelia, and Camden Shropshire. Visitation and Service: A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Midland, officiated by Jeremy Brackett. The family will greet friends following the service, where light refreshments will be served.
