Janet Jeter Obituary
Born June 18, 1956, in Salisbury, NC, she was the daughter of Robert Monroe Davis, Sr. and Mary Anne Austin Davis. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Salisbury and was an alumna of Salisbury High School and NC State University. She later met and married the love of her life, Vernon, and had a beautiful daughter, Victoria.
She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Austin Jeter Mauney; son-in-law, Josh Mauney; siblings, James Davis, Jonathan and Lynette Davis, Jennifer Davis Hammond and Eric Hammond, Chris and Jackie Crane, and Robert Davis, Jr.; mother-in-law, Martha Jeter; sister-in-law, Melicent Jeter; nephews, James “Jimbo” Davis (Erika), Josh Drye, JD Davis (Emma Grace), Josh Davis (Lindsey), Gray Davis, Jachin Davis, and Bryant Davis; and nieces, Jordan-Leigh Davis Frank (Ashton), Mary Drye Alkanani (Aimon), Lauren Davis Sibrava (Zach), Janet Hammond, and Madelynn Castor.
Her celebration of life service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Salisbury on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 1pm. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral service at First Baptist Church from 12pm to 1pm. Immediately following the service will be a committal at Rowan Memorial Park.
Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Salisbury, 223 North Fulton Street, Salisbury, NC 28144.

Janet was such a special person. I worked with her at Philip Morris for many years. She never met a stranger and was so very kind to everyone. I know exactly where she is right now. My condolences to her daughter. Janet loved her without limits.

In Loving Memory of Janet
Janet was such a bright light at OCH! You could see her eyes light up with pride whenever she spoke of Victoria and Josh. I loved hearing stories about her and her siblings, and the trips they would take together.
She was deeply passionate about her work and always took time out of her busy day to show you the right way to do things, making sure you were properly trained. Her patience and dedication truly stood out.
I am so saddened to hear of Janet´s passing. My thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing the impact she had on so many people and that she is now resting peacefully.
