Jimmy Jim Brown Daugherty

Jimmy “Jim” Brown Daugherty, 69, of China Grove passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Carolinas Healthcare System - NorthEast. He was born May 30, 1948 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Carl and Ramale Poplin Daugherty. Jim had owned Jim Daugherty Custom Cabinets for many years. Jim served in the United States Navy. He was a member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church where he was very active in many church activities including choir member, former President of the Council, Worship assistant as well as being on various committees and boards. Jim was very devoted and active in many ministries including Kairos Prison Ministry and the Eastern North Carolina Via de Cristo ministry. He was on the Board at Bostian Heights Fire Department for many years. Jim also enjoyed spending time with his family. Jim is survived by children, Amber Savage (Brad), Jamie Stegall (Gordon) and Lindsay Daugherty; grandchildren, Madison Cobb, Madelyn Plummer, Daniel Savage and Daxton Savage; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Colden Cobb; brother-in-law, Gary Garmon; c, Karan Whitley; and other special family members, Amy Elizabeth Geer, Kelsey and Hannah Geer, Joseph Garmon, Lori, Greg, Owen and Aubrey Whitcomb and Kristi and Dan Huntsberger. Service & Visitation: Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. John Futterer. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
