John Allen Owen Sr.

1963 - 2022

John Allen Owen, Sr., 58, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022. He was born March 6, 1963, in Freemont, Ohio, to Ruth Ellen Gable Owen and the late Gerald Lawrence Owen. John was a 1981 Graduate of St. Joseph Central Catholic High School and was President of OwenCorp Inc. for many years. He loved being outdoors, whether it was his work as a carpenter, camping, fishing, or hiking the Appalachian Trail. John also loved cooking, BBQing, and looking after the neighborhood kids at birthday parties. He was a member of the Golden Gloves boxing league when he was younger and boxed several matches over the years. In addition to his mother, John is survived by his children, John Allen Owen, Jr., Taylor Austin Owen and wife, Hailey, Amber Nicole Owen, and Brian Anthony McCoy; grandson, Oliver; siblings, Terri Mortemore and spouse, Steve, Gerald Scott Owen, Michael Shaun Owen and spouse, Deborah Rushe, Lisa Boutylkine and spouse, Curtis Colvin, and Pat Owen and spouse, Tony Fidale; best friend, Willie Wilson; nieces and nephews, Dan, Ally, Colin, Scott, and Christa; great-niece, Kylee; and great-nephew, Kylar. Arrangements: The family will greet friends and relatives from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell.
