June Curran Obituary

Mrs. June Marie Wyrick Curran, 92, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Born April 30, 1923, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Etta Mae Loflin and Alfred Edward Wyrick. Mrs. Curran was a graduate of Boyden High School, Class of 1943. She was a former member of Coburn United Methodist Church and current member of Christ United Methodist Church. She will be remembered as a loving grandmother who cherished visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Curran was married on May 10, 1945, in York, S.C., to Earl Rayvon Curran and they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. Their love and devotion set an example for the rest of their family and anyone who knew them. June was the youngest of 12 children and is the last of her siblings to pass. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Rayvon Curran, Feb. 11, 2015; sisters Nezzie Sink, Maggie Albertson, Molly Roberts, Agnes Leonard, Ethel Hoover, Bessie Nail; brothers Cletus Wyrick, Edward Wyrick, Sy Wyrick, Marvin Wyrick and Ernest Wyrick. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Trudy Hall and husband Grady, Kathy Hoffner and husband Carl, all of Salisbury; son Earl Rayvon Curran, Jr. and wife Janet of Elon. Mrs. Curran leaves six granddaughters, seven great-granddaughters, one great-grandson and onegreat-great-granddaughter who will love her forever. Arrangements: The family will receive friends at Summersett Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 1 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. with the funeral service following at noon in Summersett Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jill Smith of Christ United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. before the service in the U.S. National Cemetery, Statesville Boulevard location.
