Kenneth Chambers Obituary

Kenneth Obe Chambers, 82, of Salisbury passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2023 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House. Ken was born Feb. 8, 1941 in Rowan County the son of the late Lela Mae Hobbs Chambers and George R. Chambers. He was a 1960 graduate of Boyden High School and attended East Carolina University. Mr. Chambers was in the US Army Reserves and was Owner/operator of M&S Cleaners. Ken enjoyed woodworking, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. He was a member of Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge and First Baptist Church of Salisbury. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Brenda Lee Ousley Chambers whom he married Aug. 28, 1999; son Nathan Chambers (Angela) of Morehead City; daughter Meredith Hamel of Wilmington; step-son Jonathan Brown (Tara) of Salisbury; step-daughter Shanna Brown of Salisbury; grandchildren Ethan Chambers, Rachael Chambers, Will Hamel, Bill Hamel, Kendle Hamel, Kelsey Brown, Max Brown and Olyvia Brown. Visitation:12-1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at Summersett Funeral Home. Service: 1 p.m. Thursday at Summersett Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Kenneth Lance with entombment to follow at Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum with Masonic Rites. Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to First Baptist Church of Salisbury, 223 N. Fulton St., Salisbury, NC 28144. Summersett Funeral Home is serving the Chambers family. Online condolences may be made at www.summersettfuneralhome.com.
