I knew Lawrence in New Orleans. He was so funny and bright. He had weird and interesting apartments in the French Quarter, and I´d visit him from time to time... Lawrence was extremely intelligent and witty. He liked strange things and he made me feel okay in a big world. I loved him in my own way.

I had a stroke while performing at Horn in the West outdoor drama in Boone NC June 23,2021... during my recovery I learned that Lawrence had passed...he was a regular customer at the bar where I worked in Durham,NC and we became friends and we went to dinner often at the Fairview dining room at the Washington Duke...he was a great fan of Miss Emily Davis...my alter ego...and I dearly loved him....all my thoughts and prayers are with his family and the many friends that he blessed with his quick wit and love of life.........Rest in Peace

I was a friend of Larry's from Duke/Durham in the 80s and early 90s and reconnected with him in the early 2000s when we were both living in Los Angeles. Larry was extremely smart and funny, and he liked to share with me his collection of offbeat music. He was also a very talented writer, and among his friends, we used to share hilarious emails he'd sent in some new persona he'd invented. He referred to the swimming pool at his house in the Hollywood Hills as the "cee-ment pond" as in the Beverly Hillbillies. I was very sad to learn of his passing. I will probably never meet anyone quite like him again.

Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for the loss of Lawrence. Although I loss touch with him after high school, I never forgot my exceptionally smart and funny classmate. He was dear to me. I only wish I had known he lived so close to me here in California. Peace be to his family and loved ones.

I taught we will still be talking, as usual, now, instead, I'm trying to come out with words for your farewell, can't think right, my head and heart does not want to accept that you are gone. My eyes full of tears don't let me see the keyboards. for certain it will be a lonely world with you not around. You were my best friend and family, wonderful, interesting, smart, and kind. You knew how loved you were, are, and will always be. For now, is "adios mi mejor amigo". goodbye to my best friend.

My deepest condolence to all families and friends.
