Lisa Martin Obituary

Lisa Ann Brandt Martin, 56, of Winston Salem, formerly of Spencer, unexpectedly passed away March 16, 2018 at her home. Born in Salisbury, she is the daughter of Patsy Bean Brandt of Spencer and the late Frank Brandt. Graduating from North Rowan High School in 1979, she went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and serving twenty-five plus years as an operating room nurse. Lisa was of the Methodist faith, an active member of Central United Methodist Church, as well as MSF, and North Rowan Color Guard. Those left to honor her memory are her two sons, Dustin and Jordan Martin both of Charlotte; brother, Michael Brandt of Spencer and his children Rachael, Michael, and Hannah; and sister, Susan Vick of Clemmons, and her daughters Lauren and Katie. Visitation and Service: The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., Friday, March 23, at Summersett Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m., in Summersett Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Gene Dean. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the National MS Society, 2211 W. Meadowview Rd. Ste. 30, Greensboro, N.C., 27407. Summersett Funeral Home is serving the Martin family. Online condolences may be made at www.summersettfuneralhome.com.

I am so very sorry to hear this. I met Lisa at UNCC, and years later saw and spoke with her at Hanes Mall. In our conversation, we were amazed to find that we were within minutes of each other daily at that time. She was at High Point Regional, and I taught around the corner at High Point Central. Whenever I think of Lisa, I will remember a smart, talented and dedicated lady. I look forward to a Heavenly reunion.
