Michael Lee Miller

Michael Lee Miller, 73, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury, NC. He was born April 7, 1948 in Rowan County to the late Charlie and Elizabeth Linebarger Miller. He was a graduate of Boyden High School Class of 1967. Michael retired from the W.G. “Bill” Heffner VA Medical Center after 33 years of service. He was a very decorated Veteran serving in the United States Army from 1967 to 1973. He also served in Vietnam earning two Purple Hearts as Combat Engineer. He was also a member of the Army National Guard from 1985 to 1994 in the Charlie Company 1st Battalion and 131st Aviation Regiment. He was a member of the VFW and was of Baptist Faith. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, auto shows, NASCAR, and riding his motorcycle. Michael is survived by his wife, Carolyn Miller, whom he married in 2017; daughter, Lynne (Twinnion) Thompson of Rockwell; sister, Charlene (Jim) Bollinger; brother, Sonny (Kay) Miller; grandson, Steven Koontz; one niece; and two nephews. Arrangements: The Military graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 30 at 1 p.m. at the US National Cemetery (501 Statesville Blvd), Salisbury, with Pastor Joey Spry officiating.
