Paul Jones Obituary
Born March 31, 1930 in Cape Girardeau, MO, he was the son of the late Oliver Jones and Georgia Jones.
Educated in the public schools of Missouri, he was a graduate of J.C. Price High School. He was last employed in Owens Illinois as a Box Tinder at a Box Plant but also was a full time Pastor.
A member of New Zion Baptist Church, he was Pastor Emeritus for the church pastoring for over 40 years. His community involvement included member of Ministerial Alliance, the Human Relations Committee for East Rowan High School, Human Relations Council of Rowan County, IMS organization and served as worship leader of the Rowan Baptist Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Lucille Jones; brothers, Fred Lee Jones, Ollie Jones, O.C. Jones, Will Jones, Vernell Jones, Harold Jones; and sister, Earlene Jones Graham.
Those left to cherish his memories are his sons, Paul Jones, Jr. of Charlotte, Vincent Patrick Jones (Rita) and Christopher Jones (Kendra) both of Salisbury; daughter, Felicia Beatty of Salisbury; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces,nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Arrangements: Public Walk Thru Friday, January 26, 2024 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Services will be Sunday, January 28, 2024 at New Zion Baptist Church with Visitation at 3:00 PM and Funeral at 3:30 PM. Military Rites and Interment will be Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Salisbury National Cemetery. Apostle Bradley Taylor, Officiating and Bishop Derek Kelly, Eulogist.

They don't make them like Rev. Jones anymore! I always enjoyed seeing and talking to Rev. Jones and Mrs. Jones after various revivals around the county! One year, during the Holy Week at St. Luke, Rev. Jones jumped straight up from the floor to the front row pew!!!! He didNOT have a Takeoff, he did it, just like that! Half the church was tore up! After church I said Rev. Jones, show me how you did that, he said no, you show me how I did that cause I don't know! As time went on, I found out they enjoyed Captain D's, and every now and then I would enjoy their company there! After a life well lived, it is time for your Rest, Rev. Jones.
To the Family: Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. May the Lord comfort each of you now and always, as you remember your loved one, Rev. Paul Jones.

Rev Paul was our neighbor. He always greeted you with a smile. I always like talking with him and his wife Mrs Alma when we were neighbors. And also liked hearing him preach. Rest in peace Rev Jones, you will truly be missed.
