Preston Hillie Obituary

Preston Rayvon Hillie, Jr (aka “PJ”), 34, was born on Dec. 21, 1987. He is best remembered by a heartwarming smile that brought comfort to all that knew him and a welcoming spirit that made it very easy to form friendships anywhere he went. PJ descended this life on June 2, 2022 after an intense battle with congestive heart failure. He was preceded in death by his mother, Venita M. McKee of Salisbury; his grandfathers, Henry Lee Withers of Raleigh and Larry Grace of Salisbury; and his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Gaffie Flake-Hillie of Concord. Those left behind to cherish his memories include the loves of his life, Quinivia Chicole Hillie (wife) and their three children Quayvon Blakeney, Preston Hillie, III (aka “P3”) and Rayvon Josiah Hillie all of whom he imparted his outgoing personality and a love for anything involving the great outdoors. Additional family members left to celebrate his life include his father, Preston Rayvon Hillie, Sr (Donna) of Concord; his sister, Nicole Knox (Audrey) of Ashburn, Va.; his brothers, Jai Withers of Brunswick, Ga.; and Thomas Hillie of Concord; his grandmother, Betty Grace of Salisbury; his aunts, Pam Connor of Salisbury, Deyonae Grace of Biloxi, Miss., Titina Hillie-Floyd, Minnie Caldwell of Concord; and a very special aunt, April Woodberry (William) of East Spencer; his uncles, Phil Thompson of Toledo, Ohio; Bryan Withers of Salisbury; Keith Heggins (Kiesha) of Greensboro; and Calvin Hillie of Concord. PJ is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to express our deepest appreciation for all the thoughts, prayers and words of comfort provided during this time of bereavement. We would also like to extend a special thanks to everyone that was able to make a monetary donation towards PJ's homegoing. Arrangements: Memorial Service June 25, 2 p.m. at Manning Funeral Home, 700 N 25th Street, Richmond, Virginia, 2322. Telephone: 804.643.8738. (www.manningfh.com)
