Robert Gibson Obituary
Mr Gibson was born March 21, 1927 in Polk County to John C. Gibson and Mary Louise McGinn Gibson. He was a member of Cleveland United Methodist Church. He was owner/operator of Airport Cartage Company and Bodvarsson Enterprises in addition to a long employment history in the transportation industry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Lucy Pitts Satterwhite Gibson; brother, Charles Gibson; and sister, Mary Gibson Swain.
Surviving are daughters, Mary Pratt and husband Travis of California, Brenda Wilson and husband Tommy of Churchland; sons, Robert ""Bob"" Gibson, Jr. and wife Jane of Kentucky and John P. Gibson and wife Ellen of Black Mountain; grandchildren, Daniel Bodvarsson, Hannah Pratt, Caleb Pratt, Heather Britt, Hilary Gibson Brown, Katelyn Gibson and T. Cody Wilson; brother, Pete Gibson of Columbus; and sisters, Ruby Jones of Columbus, Jetty Hutcherson of Winston-Salem and Betty Robbins of Rutherfordton.
Service & Visitation: A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Cleveland United Methodist Church, 11445 Statesville Blvd., Cleveland. Visitation will follow the service.
