Ruby Rusher

Ruby Randall Rusher, age 96, of Salisbury passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House. Mrs. Rusher was born July 16, 1926 in Lauderdale, Miss., the daughter of the late Ruby Cole Stodard and Morris Wimberly Stodard. She was an East Spencer High School graduate and worked for Fiber Industries. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and the VFW ladies' auxiliary. She was a devoted wife and mother. Preceding her in death was her husband Floyd G. Rusher Sr. who died Feb. 4, 2009 whom she married April 8, 1944; daughter, Dianne Bivins and husband Mickey; brother, Wayne Stodard; sister Peggy Rusher. Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Floyd G. Rusher, Jr. (Martha) of Concord; daughter, Dare Campbell (Layne) of Ashboro; brothers, Morris Stodard (Liz) of Maryland, and Stanley Stodard (Grace) of Salisbury; sisters, Sandra Basinger (Ronnie) of Salisbury and Bobbie Price of Alabama; sister-in-law, Evelyn Stodard of Bennetsville, S.C.; brothers-in-law, Sonny and Jay Rusher; grandchildren, Tonya Barber and Stephanie Freeman, Justin Bost, Brittany Keever, Angela Toomes, Kimberly Davis, Lori Campbell, Dwayne Bivins, Kristi Bivins and Jamie Bivins; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Belle, Heather, Brian, Jenna Layne, Aaron, Devin, Dustin, Chase, Dwayne, Mason, Madison and Kaylie; great-great-grandchildren, Trevor, Madison, Haven, McKenna, Mason, Novalee and Hensley. The family requests that visitors wear masks during visitation and service. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 30, at Summersett Funeral Home. Service: The Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. in Summersett Memorial Chapel conducted by Stanley Stodard with entombment following at Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum.
