Shirley Barringer Obituary
RICHFIELD - Shirley Lillian Brown Barringer, 78 years of age, of Richfield, passed away Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville.
Shirley was born June 8, 1936 in Rowan County to the late Charles Ivey Brown and the late Lena Mae Danner Brown.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Charlie Calvin Barringer of Richfield; daughter, Andrea (Rocky) Drye of Albemarle; sons, Woody Barringer, Marty (Robin) Barringer and Ty (Cherri) Barringer, all of Richfield; grandchildren, Heather Drye, Rachel Barringer, Christine Barringer, Garrett Barringer, Daniel Barringer, Ross Hopkins, Shelly Hatley, and Andi Craig and three great grandchildren.
Services: There are no services scheduled, per Shirley's request.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 46963 Wesley Chapel Rd., Misenheimer, NC 28109.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Barringer family.

Woody, Marty, Robin, Ty, Cherri, Andi and Rocky - I am so very sorry for your loss. I watched you surround your Mom with so much love in the past few weeks, and though I didn't get to meet her, I got a sense of her spirit through your loving care. She must have been an amazing woman to have raised such a wonderful, thoughtful, doting family. My thoughts are with all of you at this time.

I have fond memories of my cousin, Shirley. Shirley would come to our home at lunchtime with my sister, Lorene, as we lived near the school. I remember she drove a school bus (as a student herself.) When our grandmother passed away, we skipped arm-in-arm together up the street to grandma's house. Shirley was a beautiful lady, with a smile that would radiate the room. In the last conversation I had with her at my brother Bob's funeral, we talked about our hope of heaven and how glorious that time will be. So until we meet again, may God be a comfort to her husband and family.
