Victor Farrah Obituary
SALISBURY - Victor Samuel Farrah, 89, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the Hospice House at the W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center.
Born Oct. 1, 1924, in Detroit, Mich, he was the son of the late George John Farrah Sr. and Lily Saigh Barbour Farrah.
Educated in the Detroit, Mich., schools and a graduate from Eastern High School, he attended Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Navy serving during World War II before being medically discharged.
Mr. Farrah was an associate with Packard Motor Company Test Cells from 1942-45; 1945-49 with United Parcel Service in Detroit, Mich.; 1950-60 he was Truck Manager with Ver Hoven Woodward Chevrolet, Detroit, Mich.; and from 1960-81 he owned Vic Farrah Chevrolet in Meadville, Pa.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury, Composite Masonic Lodge, Detroit, Mich., a 50-year member of Zem Zem Shrine Temple, Erie, Pa., Shrine Club of Crawford County, Pa., Taylor Hose Company, Meadville Kiwanis, member and former President of Meadville Sertoma Club and Salisbury Lions Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Susan Farrah, in 1985; brothers John Farrah, Edward Farrah, George J. Farrah Jr.; and sisters Leona Wright, Jean Farrah.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Nioma Peterson Farrah; sons Dr. Victor B. Farrah Sr. and wife Donna of Lexington, Brad Farrah and wife Marty of Salisbury, Laura Farrah Lancaster and husband Fred of Dameron, Md.; brother William Farrah and wife Janice of Detroit, Mich.; grandchildren Hillary Farrah, Brittany Farrah Quinn and husband Mike, Victor Byron Farrah Jr., Leila Faries and husband Victor, Matthew Lancaster and Caroline Lancaster; great-grandchildren Victor and Katie Faries.
Mr. Farrah will be moved from Summersett Funeral Home to Roofner-Collin-Warren Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335.
Pennsylvania Arrangements: A graveside service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday (April 5) at the Greendale Cemetery, Meadville, Pa. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty St., Meadville, Pa., with the Rev. Dr. Brian Jensen, officiating. There will be a luncheon at the church following the service.
Salisbury Arrangements: A Memorial Service will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday (April 15) at First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury with the Rev. Dr. Jim C. Dunkin and Rev. Dr. Randal V. Kirby officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in Lewis Hall.
Memorials: May be made to First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury, 308 W. Fisher St., Salisbury, NC 28144.

So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was blessed with a long life. I remember seeing him at the Salisbury dealership when I worked in the parts department for you. He was a nice man. Prayers for you and Marty.
