Walter Thomas Morrison

Walter Thomas Morrison, 76, of Rockwell passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 16, 1940 in Rowan County to the late Irene Curlee and the late Luther B. Morrison. Walt was Baptist by faith. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and working; he was quite the worker. He owned and operated Walter Morrison's Garbage Service. In addition to his parents, Irene and Luther, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Fred and Grey; and his sisters, Eva Mae and Katherine. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Carolyn Goodman Morrison of Rockwell whom he married on Aug. 18, 1962 in York, S.C.; son, Crash Morrison of Rockwell; brothers, James, John and Donald; sisters, Patricia, Jane and Ruby; very special grandsons, William Morrison and Luke Morrison both of Salisbury; and special friend, Gabrielle “Cricket”. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care of Salisbury, 720 Grove Street, Salisbury, NC 28144 in his memory.
