Woodrow Moore Obituary

Woodrow W. Moore, 84, of Rockwell, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

Mr. Moore was born November 9, 1940, in Shelby County, IN, to Woodrow L. and Dorothy Mae Thompson Moore. He was a graduate of Brownsburg High School and was employed as a carpenter throughout his career. Mr. Moore was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country from 1958 until 1961.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Jean Moore, whom he married in 1963 and who passed away December 5, 2019.

Mr. Moore is survived by children, Shelly Ann Hinman of Monrovia, IN, Woodrow W. Moore, Jr. and wife, Paula, of Plainfield, IN, Michael D. Moore and wife, Barbie, of Rockwell, Lisa L. Baird of Salisbury, and Scott B. Moore of Rockwell, Debbie Moore-Fore, of Mesa, AZ; brothers, Mac Moore and Victor Moore; sister, Joann Vinyard; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

The family will greet friends and relatives from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM on Wednesday, May 14, at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell, NC.

The service will follow at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Boulevard, Salisbury, NC 28144, conducted by Pastor Mike Shoaf.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Children's, Processing Center, P.O. Box 947765, Atlanta, GA 30394.
