Dad: It's been a a whole month since you left us. I think of you everyday and forever miss you. It's been said that we'll find strength in each tear we cry. It seems that every tear I cry does not end. Maybe it is the season, or maybe your warmth and our talks are what I miss. Thank you for being a beautiful and wise man. I love you. Lise

A poem was given to me to remember you this Christmas, dad....

My Best Christmas in Heaven

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below,

with tiny lights like heavens stars

reflecting in the snow.

The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away that tear.

For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs,

that people hold so dear.

But the sounds of music can’t compare

with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you

the joy their voices bring.

For it is beyond description to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me,

I see the pain in your heart.

But I am not so far away, we really aren’t apart.

So be happy for me dear ones,

You know I hold you dear.

And be glad I’m spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I send you each a special gift, More precious than pure gold

I send you each a memory of my undying love

After all “LOVE” is the gift

More precious than pure gold.

It was the most important in the stories Jesus told

Please love and keep each other

As my father said to do.

For I can’t count the blessings or love

He has for each of you.

So have Merry Christmas

And wipe away the tear

Remember

I’m spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year!

The night Aiomanu Taeoalii leaves us,

the moon calls his whole

universe of stars to his bedside.

It is November and childrens voices sparkle

in bright octaves

across the fabric of night.

The air so clear

the whole valley is shimmering

like a sea of gold plankton

igniting.

Mountains dark shoulders

try to crowd out the briliance,

but the moon lifts his great hand

and still lights the way.

Daughters and sons are singing.

A wife strokes the hair of her

husbands head.

A great feast awakes.

A great flood begins,

the many hands and voices

of those whose lives this man has lit.

And they flow from the whole

earth to where he lay,

a chief clothed in courage

a face lined by laughter,

a father whose path led

his children here, so that they

may sit on the mat of a new world

and make it their own.

And so may their children

and the children of their children, too.

So that he may finally rest

and breathe in the warm green

of humid forests,

Of orchids cascading

through air,

Of the sea,

it's giant heartbeat

caught in each wave

as it bends to kiss the earth,

then ascends,

The echo of his greatness

still in our ears.

With Love,

Grandpa I love you so much. I miss you. I wish you were alive. I wish you were having a great time with God and with Paikea in heaven and I hope you don't forget about all of your grandkids and I hope you don't forget about your other grandkids - that's my Mom. And I wish that they could help you and you would never be dead.

I love you Grandpa Aiomanu very much. My favorite memory will always be you in your rocking chair, in a sweatshirt and sweatpants, wearing your beanie. Even though you were cold, you'd still ask Lise for ice cream.

I miss you a lot. And actually, when I was working on my "welcome winter" poster from Harmon's yesterday, I was thinking about you in your chair, under your green blanket with your beanie on. You'd smile a lot. I'll miss it.

Love,

Dae

We remember the very first time we met your dad and some of the children at Albertsons on North Temple many years ago (30 years ago). We have had many experiences with the family interfacing with our children growing up with the children and grandchildren.

We admire your family and you are very special in our hearts. Your father is truly an example to live by. Remember his teachings and you will not go wrong.

Our deepest condolences be with the family at this time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
