Arik Mack Obituary
Arik Jeffery "Air Bear" Mack, age 19 of Mapleton, Utah passed away March 24, 2015 from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Spanish Fork, Utah.
Arik was born April 8, 1995 in Lake County, Florida. His parents are Liz and Jeff Mack. Arik was an outstanding baseball player while at Maple Mountain High School. In 2013, he helped lead the Golden Eagles to the 4A state title game. He was the 2 time all state first team, 2 time 4A pitcher of the year, Utah State strikeout leader, and 4A state all star game MVP. He also received national recognition and is in the Utah State all time record books. He later went on to play for the Utah Marshalls, BYU and SLCC. Many know Arik as an athlete. We know him as a son, brother, grandson and friend. Arik was a massive presence. His energy will be missed. He is irreplaceable.
Arik is survived by his parents, Liz and Jeff Mack, brothers Austin, Dallas, Jeff Mack, Jr. and Wes Childs, his grandparents Blitch and Jeannine Shuman, Glenn and Genevieve Nygren. Arik is preceded in death by Charles Richard Mack, grandfather.
Arik, you are one of a kind. We are counting the days until we see you again. We love you so much, son.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the LDS Stake Center, 475 North 1600 West (Highway 89), Mapleton, Utah.

I'm sorry for your loss. Its been 4 years since his departure yet it feels like it was just last week. I tried to write you a note, when it happened but theres no words that could be said, with this type of grief. He really achieved many goals and was rewarded for his talent. I've prayed for this to soften for you, although I couldn't imagine your pain. I hope you all are moving forward and your lives are going well and peacefully. God bless you all.

While I didn't know Arik, have seen his father, Jeff, share an incredibly touching video with us for the past 5 years with Nu Skin. Each time, the love and pride that showed in Jeff's smile, his face and his eyes made it absolutely clear that he adored his son, and that they shared an uncommon bond. My parents lost my brother in Vietnam at age 20-he was never found-so I know the heartbreak parents face losing a child. My heart goes out and my love sends reverberating prayers for now and always.
