Bernice Kunz Nelson
1919 ~ 2012
Our sweet mother, Bernice K. Nelson, joined our dad on November 1, 2012.
She was born December 17, 1919 to Ezra and Vilda Kunz in Thomas, ID. Bernice spent her early childhood in Nevada then moved to Utah with her sister and six brothers. She graduated from Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah. In June of 1937 she married her eternal companion, Lawrence G. Nelson in the Salt Lake Temple.
Together they raised their family of five children in Richland, Washington. Her greatest love was her family and her religion. She devoted many years as Relief Society President, Primary president, and other fulfilling callings for The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked as a cook in the schools, Heather House Nursing Home, and Kadlec Hospital. Later She and Dad Served a Church mission in Alabama. They retired and moved to Sandy, Utah to care for her parents.
Bernice is survived by her children, Jean (Alan Miner), Don (Darlene) Nelson, David (Donna) Nelson, Carol (Dean Weyand), Kathryn (Scott Corbaley), brothers Herbert Kunz, Loyal Kunz, Marlon Kunz, and sister-in-law Nellie Kunz.
She was the Grandmother of 22, Great Grandmother of 54, and Great Great Grandmother of five.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012, at the church 251 E. 10600 S. Viewing at 10:00 a.m., Funeral at 11:00.

I loved Aunt Bernice. She was always so fun to be around. Happy, cheerful and had a great sense of humor. I wish we had lived closer. She and Uncle Larry raised a great family and it is fun to see them at the Kunz reunion. Love you all, JoAnn
