Bryan Peck Obituary

"Pepper"
1957 ~ 2017
Our beloved husband, father, papa and friend passed away on February 10, 2017 at the age of 59. He died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family after a courageous eleven-month battle with stomach cancer.
He was born on September 16, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Wallace (Bob) and Betty Peck. He married Janet Sommers on January 5, 1974. They enjoyed 43 beautiful years of marriage. They created a beautiful life together and had three children. He enjoyed spending time with his family and all of his grandchildren, gardening, boating, fishing, or traveling with family.
Bryan started mining in Tooele, UT at Anaconda Carr Fork mine, from there he worked with Asamera Minerals at the Gooseberry Mine, and transferred to the Cannon Mine in Wenatchee, WA where he capped the portal before moving to Elko, NV and starting work at Barrick Goldstrike. He was one of the first miners with Barrick to pull the first round in the Meikle Mine where he brassed in for 22 years. During his 40 years of mining he also participated in mine rescue, which he also supported.
He was greeted in heaven by his father, Bob; mother Betty Talbot; step father, Earl Talbot; brothers Dennis, Bobby, Billy, and Terry; father and mother in law, Don and Carol Sommers; along with his best friend Ernie Leyva where they will continue to look over their fellow miners.
He is survived by his wife Janet, his son Mike (Amanda); daughters Cheri (Brian) Moring, and Mindy (Jeff) Watson. He also leaves behind six grandchildren Damon, McKayla (Brock) Spellerberg, Camron, Marissa, Kierra, and Hailey, and two great grandchildren Aubrianna and Reylah; Marissa's father Dan Luke; siblings, Jeanne (Mike) Mcphie; Bonnie (Gary) Balliger; Penny (Calvin) Brown; In-laws Joe (Teri) Sommers, and Lisa (Glenn) Kinney, as well as many extended family members and friends.
His family invites you to celebrate his life on, Saturday February 18, 2017-1:00pm at the Red Lion Ball Room in Elko, NV or a celebration of life will be held February 19, 2017 at Jordan Villa's Club House 9339 S 2200 W West Jordan, UT at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation Gastric Cancer Research 500 Huntsman Way SLC, UT 84108 or online at www.donat.hunsmancancer.org/cancer in Bryan's name for gastric cancer research or the Elko Cancer Network 2003 Errecart Blvd Elko, NV 89801-3806

I'm so sorry for your loss Jeanne, Bonnie and Penny. I remember Pepper coming over to our house all the time when he was young. He was such a good friend to Rob and Clyde. I haven't seen him in about 45 years. It sounds like he grew up to be a wonderful man. My condolences also to his family.
