Hi Williams Family.
My name is Chuck Steffen, a grad student/lifeguard at UW-Madison. After going into the water underneath the Memorial Union dock before my shift, I came across this pendant. We wanted to find a way to reach out and return this as it may be of great sentimental value, or a good remembrance from a good friend. I am so sorry for your loss.
You can either reach me through the email provided, or through my phone at 651-347-7464.
If this was meant to stay in the lake, I will happily place it back in for your memorial.
Hope all is well,
Chuck

Having lived in Utah for four years and been a frequent visitor since my return to the UK I have read and heard about Caleb's considerable achievments in wrestling.
I have just received my latest batch of Utah newspapers and was shoked to learn about the death of Caleb. From my understanding he was an exceptional athlete, dedicated student and loving family member.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Williams family - God bless you and may he walk with you at this difficult time.

Dear Williams Family,
I don't know you personally but wish to express my deepest sympathies. My husband has been a funeral director for 14 years and at times I feel to mourn with those who mourn. I truly mourn your lose. Caleb's passing has caused my soul to search beyond my previous testimony of eternal life. He is a valiant soul that is evident. What an amazing young man. He continues to teach people even in his passing. May the Lord bless you and grant you that peace that surpasseth understanding.

Dear Williams Family,
Wow, what an incredible young man. My family and I did not have the pleasure of meeting Caleb; however we have heard my nephew, Jacoby Peterson (Kuna, ID) talk about him quite often. After reading through all of the thoughts and tributes that have come your way through this posting, it is obvious that Caleb has touched many people throughout the Country.
What an incredible feat for anyone, especially someone his age. I have had so many questions and discussions with God, since I heard about Caleb's accident. I am not certain that I have any answers, other than to know that our ultimate goal is to be in heaven with our Lord and from what I can tell with Caleb - he was certainly an achiever and is now safe in heaven.
I know he will certainly be missed and I wish there was something I could do to help you ease your pain. Please know that like myself, there are people out there that you have never met that are praying for you and holding you close in our thoughts to give you strength during this incredibly difficult time.
God's Blessing to you ~

To The Williams Family,
Our heartfelt prayers go out to you and your family. Our own son and our club wrestlers (Colorado Outlaws) have had the honor to either wrestle, converse or learn from Caleb. He has left a legacy in his short time here on earth for all of us to recognize. All can be accomplished when you trust in the Lord and the abilities in which he gives you. It's what you do in your life with what the Lord has given you that shines in your passing. Caleb truly shined. Even though his life was short, he will always be fondly remembered for his smile, friendship and his leadership in the wrestling community. God Bless you all in this very difficult time.

Dear Ron, Kim & Family,
My name is John Stillwagon, I'm sure you remember my son Clay, the skinny little blonde-haired kid from Butte, Montana who wrestled Caleb at the Rocky Mountain National Tournaments and USAW Western Regionals and Nationals. My family received word of Caleb's passing on Tuesday, and there has been many tears shed since. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, your family and friends, and to Caleb across the hole I feel has been left between the 420 miles from Salt Lake City to Butte Montana. I thought you might wish to know what Caleb meant to us.
Caleb was the reason we went to many of these expensive, out-of-state trips to the big wrestling tournaments. I remember traveling to Boise so Clay could get a chance to wrestle him, and after Clay got pinned in about 20 seconds, I thought that that was a long way to go for 20 seconds. In July, I told Clay we did not need to go to Orem for Nationals, but Clay told me he wanted another chance with Williams. So off we went. In Salt Lake, Clay got his first ever takedown on Caleb, and chalked it up as improvement and a step up the ladder. Although Caleb was the wrestler Clay wanted to beat, there was no animosity what-so-ever. I can still picture these two boys, matside talking and laughing between matches. Clay had a lot of respect for Caleb and thought of him as a friend.
It was easy to see that Caleb had a huge desire to win and a good work ethic. Clay always said how strong Caleb was. One time in particular I remember telling Clay that he would beat Caleb in Greco, and when Caleb ended up Greco National Champion, Clay told me, "see, I told you he was good at Greco".
Caleb made Clay a better wrestler and we will sorely miss his competition. I feel that we adults can learn a lot from these kids. Like how they can go out on the mat and beat on each other, and then walk off good friends with a good feeling of comraderie. As a father, my heart aches for you, and as a friend, Clay's heart is broke. Caleb's memory will forever go on with us through out Clay's life and wrestling career.
With great sympathy,
John, Jenni, LT, Clay & Abbi Stillwagon

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Caleb was a great kid and an amazing wrestling. My son Jacob wrestled him for the first time at RMN in Denver when they were only 7 and then several times through the years. Jacob always commented on what a great sport he was and how good he was. This was always after Caleb had made short work of Jacob. When the matches were over, he would shake my hand he would always say thank you and have a big smile on his face. You couldn't help but smile back. He definitely made an impact on my son's life and mine. He will be sorely missed.

Dear Williams Family,
We cannot express to you how truly sorry we are for your earthly loss. We are, however, thankful for what Caleb has gained. He is now rejoicing the presence of our Lord and running on streets of gold. As parents, we cannot imagine your pain. We hope that when you are ready to reflect, these words will make you smile...
Our son, Nico, is very reserved and quiet during his matches. Outside of his teammates, he rarely has much to say of his opponents. When he came home from Regionals this year, he was very excited about the impression that your son made on him. He could not wait to point out to his mom the "cool kid" that he met in Idaho.
As parents, we are thankful that our son had the honor of wrestling and meeting your son. We are thankful for the lasting impression that your son made on ours. On Sunday, Nico requested to our pastor that he and our entire church pray for his friend Caleb and Caleb's family. We hope that you feel our prayers.
We know in our hearts that your family will be reunited in Heaven. We pray that God keeps you and comforts you.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Psalm 23:6
With much love, honor and respect,

I remember meeting Caleb at nationals in July. He was a very nice boy. He told me how he had dreams of winning an Olympic gold medal. He was a very good wrestler so I had no doubt. Caleb was a boy like no other. Straight A's, over 20 national titles and many more accomplishments. He was one of the best 12 year old wreslters I've ever seen. But he was more than just a wrestler. Caleb was an inspiration to many and a friend to everyone. Caleb was not just a 12 year old boy. He was a hero. And for that I will always remember him.

Wow. What a fantastic young man. I never met Caleb, although my son may have. But his death has brought the story of his life to a lot of people's attention. And his life, though short, was inspirational. Thank you and thank God for making this fantastic boy. Gabriel Heatter said, "Mere longevity is a good thing for those who watch life from the sidelines. For those who play the game, an hour may be a year; a single day's work an achievement for eternity." God bless your family and give you grace and peace.

Dear Ron, Kim, & Family, Words cannot express how sorry me and my family are for you, and what your going through right now. I to like so many others that have already written have said; have always been a huge fan of Calebs great ability as a Wrestler and of his huge smile. My boys have always looked up to him, especially Matt. When ever he thought things might be to difficult in practice , Or in a match, He would ask himself if Caleb would quit. He told me that is how he was able to push himself as far as he could go. Because he wanted to be the kind of champion that your fine son is. He will be sorely missed, But his memory and champion spirit will go on in my boys lives and all that knew him forever. You are in our prayers, May the Lord bless you. My family wants to express our condolences to the Williams family. I personally do not know Caleb's parents but our boys had wrestled against each other at Big Horn several years ago. I still have 5 pictures of our boys creating friendship. I just showed my son, Ke-Shawn, the news story and even though he didn't know Caleb outside of the wrestling circle, he has taken the news extremely hard. Everytime they saw each other at National Tournaments, they always made a point to acknowledge each other and rekindle their friendship.
If someone could provide me with the Williams' email address, I would like to send them a copy of the pictures.
Again, I'm deeply sorry for your loss.
God Bless,

Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you each and every day during this most difficult time. Caleb was a ray of sunshine to everyone! His infectious smile and attitude are his legacy. We have been blessed by being able to have known such a great human being. My boys are blessed by having been Caleb's friend and wrestling buddy. Caleb touched our lives with his great attitude and outlook on life. I remember asking Caleb why he liked wrestling so much, and he said " I love the competition and the friends I have". What a statement from a kid his age! Caleb is a true reflection of how well you raised him. You did an amazing job of getting Caleb on the right track. Caleb will be pasted into each person's life that he came in contact with. We appreciate the friendship he brought to Jordan & Beau. Caleb is a "True Champion" in every sense of the word. This world just won't be the same without Caleb in it.
