Carol Tibolla Obituary

Carol Lynn Dalton Tibolla

1949 - 2023

It is with great sadness and a bittersweet sense of loss that we announce the passing of Carol Lynn Dalton Tibolla on the morning of June 20, 2023.

Carol was born on September 30, 1949, to Lawrence E. Dalton and Helen Mae Cox Dalton as the fourth of nine children. She and her siblings were raised on a farm in West Jordan, UT and she graduated from Bingham High School in 1968. She married the love of her life, Tim Tibolla, in 1969. They settled in West Jordan and raised their family there, where they have remained.

She was a woman with many talents, a quick wit, and a sharp mind. She took a lot of pride in her family and was a great Wife, Mom, Grandma, Daughter, Sister, and Aunt. As a mother, she was a great example of integrity and honesty. She was quick to console and comfort in times of need and was just as quick to offer advice and guidance. She was a person of great courage, not afraid to stand up for those less fortunate or to speak out when somebody needed an ally. Carol could carry on a conversation about many topics and was not afraid to share an opinion!

Carol built a career to be proud of, working in human resources for a few of the early entrants to the technology industry in Utah (National Semiconductor, Beehive International, Sperry Univac, and Unisys). She was a champion for the less fortunate and participated in many causes in support of diversity, inclusion, and equality.

Outside of spending time with her family, Carol enjoyed spending time at the cabin in Bear Lake. She and Dad enjoyed as much time as they could there, and they made it a welcome retreat for many throughout the years. If you were family or a friend of the Tibolla's, you knew you were welcome at the cabin any time! She was a great host and enjoyed hosting family and friends at home on Christmas Day, for summer BBQs, and at the cabin for many large family celebrations. If you found yourself at the cabin on a rainy day, you likely got roped into a Perry Mason, Murder She Wrote, or Law & Order marathon as well!

Carol was preceded in death by her mother and father and her siblings (Sharon Dalton Hyatt, Donald Dalton, and Danny Dalton), sister-in-law, Rosemary Dalton, and nephew, Rey Dalton. She is survived by her husband, Tim Tibolla, her children, Tina and Bryan Cahoon and Joe and Amy Tibolla, her grandchildren Karsen and Collin Cahoon and Tyler and Anthony Tibolla, 5 siblings - Frank (Pat) Dalton, Larry Dalton, Jane (Bob) Crosier, DeAnn (Roger) Dimond, and John (Julie) Dalton, and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family wants to thank the staff at Meadow Peak Assisted Living and Memory Care as well as the staff from Elevate Home Health & Hospice for their kind and loving care over the past 9 months.

At Mom's request, there will be a private service for the immediate family to be followed by a Celebration of Life event (details to be shared at a later date).
