Cathy Lynn Newman

Cathy Lynn Newman  Riverton- Cathy Lynn Newman, 51, passed away at home on October 31, 2002 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.  Born Sept. 14, 1951 in Spring Canyon, Utah to Milton and Genevieve Marshall. Married Daniel Newman on Sept. 18, 1984 in Reno, Nevada. Cathy loved life right up to the very end. She especially enjoyed camping and four wheeler riding with her family. Her best friends were her grandchildren Jessica and Kyle whom she spent a lot of time with. Everything Cathy did she did out of love for her husband and children.  She was your best friend and would do anything for anybody at anytime. She was a positive and heroic person. She was our hero, and hero's should never be forgotten. Survived by the love of her life Dan, her children Aaron (Shannon) Newman, Shane (Jamie) Newman, Danny (Val) Newman and Cathy (Richard) Windham. Grandchildren, Jessica, Kyle, Amber, Kaitlyn and great grandchild Tyler. Brothers Larry (Sally) Marshall, Jerry (Robyn) Marshall, Paul (Miranda) Marshall, two half brothers and three half sisters, many nieces and nephews and other beloved family members. Preceded in death by mother Genevieve and special father Jim Miller, grandson Danny Newman and Grandmother Eva Neilson. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Riley for never giving up, nurse Cara for being a good friend and special care giver, to Cathy's drip club, Never Give Up!! To Cathy's neighbors and special friends, Thank you.  She will be missed dearly by family and friends. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 So. 2200 W. where friend may call one hour prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn South Valley.  In lieu of flowers please donate to the Breast Cancer Society.
