Colleen Hamilton Obituary

Colleen Hamilton The Original Domestic Goddess Colleen Louise Peters Hamilton passed away June 24, 2007 in Murray, Utah after a short but brave battle with brain cancer. She was born in Salt Lake City January 15, 1956 to Warren Reese Peters Sr. and Marja Priest Peters. After her father's death her mother married Merrill George Jewkes and she was later sealed to them in the Salt Lake Temple. Colleen married Jack William Hamilton on Oct. 15, 1982. Marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple January 15, 1985. Survived by her husband Jack, five daughters Pauleen, Stefinee, Melodee, Heather, and Amanda, seven grandchildren; step mother Jean Jewkes, four brothers and seven sisters. Funeral services will be held Fri. June 29, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Bennion 4th Ward, 6100 South Kamas Drive (2480 West). Friends may call at the Church Thurs. from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Fri. Interment will be in the Valley View Memorial Park. Directors Independent Funeral Service.

To the Hamilton Family,
Colleen, I have know you for almost thirty years, we shared the birth of some of our children, the joys of being a grand-mother, our tears, our sorrows, our laughter, which there was always plenty, our secrects and our Faith in Our Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ. I was gratefl for our friendship. I am sorry that I wasn't there for you, I want you to know that I loved you as my friend. Pauleen, Stefinee, Meoldee, Heather, and Amanda, you were her life, she loved each of you,she wanted you to be happy. Jack, she loved you dearly, you was her knight in shining armor.

Hamilton family-
Wanted to take a minute and express to you what a kind, fun, generous person your Mother was. Colleen and I would hang out for hours on her front porch in the summer, often well in to the night. She always had a ear to listen, a voice for advise and a heart that never questioned. She and I where great friends; albeit I had not seen her in many years, I thought of her often. When I speak of her, it is only with fondness. She is a great friend, a fun friend and a loyal friend.

Dear Jack and daughters,
We were so sad to read of your mother and sweetheart's passing. We only knew some of you for a short time while we were missionaries in the Jordan View Ward. We enjoyed the few times that we got to visit with you.
Colleen (and mom) loved each of you so much. She has such hopes and dreams for each of you to succeed in this life. We loved sharing in her sense of humor and had many good laughs with her.

Hamilton Family;
We are from the same neighborhood as Colleen. We spent our High school years with her and Had very Happy Momeries of her. She was a big part of our lives. The Stories that we could tell you about your Mother, they were very happy times.
