Debra Pedersen Obituary

Debra Johnson Pedersen

1952-2025

Debra Johnson Pedersen (Debbie) passed away on July 19, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Havre, Montana on January 15, 1952, the first of five children of Clare Anthony Johnson and Elizabeth (Betty) Stettler Johnson. Siblings are Garth Johnson, Ernest (Ernie) Johnson, Anita (Nita) McKay and Patty Hammel, all surviving Debbie.

Debbie grew up in Chinook, Montana, attending Chinook High School and later Utah State University. In 1973, Debbie married Ivan Ron Pedersen from Logan, Utah whom she met at USU. Debbie and Ron have two sons, Jeff and Greg, and twelve grandchildren, all surviving Debbie and Ron (passed away May 2, 2021). Debbie and Ron spent their early years together raising their family in Logan and Sandy, Utah before moving to Greenlawn, New York in 1986. They returned to Sandy in 1991 after 5 adventurous years on the east coast. Spending time with her family has always been Debbie's priority and source of greatest happiness, from countless family trips to Disney, to chasing her grandkids around at soccer games, cross country and track races, band and orchestra concerts and countless other activities and events. She frequently hosted her grandkids to watch movies, listen to music, cook, do yardwork or just chat and enjoy the views with Debbie from her mountainside home. She was the best mother, grandmother, wife and friend anyone could ask for, always supporting her family in whatever crazy endeavors they could dream up, and genuinely caring about what was going on in the lives of her family and friends.

Debbie was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding various callings of service and teaching, including Relief Society presidencies, early morning seminary teacher and temple ordinance worker.

Dearest Cousin Debbie,
I remember fondly you coming to Logan to begin your studies at Utah State at the same time as me. That was nice to have your friendship and get to know you better. We both started our families at the same time and then time just slipped away. I'll remember always my bestest cousin.

Debbie was my wonderful young women leader in the Logan 8th Ward. She was sweet, kind, and fun and I´m grateful for her influence in my life.

We loved having Ron and Debbie in our neighborhood and Ward. They were wonderful people and a shining example of a "tru-lov" marriage! So happy they are now reunited. Condolences' to their family- whom they loved so much and took much pride in!
