Dione Dalton Magleby

March 24, 1973 -

September 3, 2024

Salt Lake City, Utah-

Dione was a show stopper.

She had the natural gift to walk into a room and be the center of it. Yes, she was physically beautiful; however, it was her laughter, zest for life, and energy that really made her shine.

Dione was born on March 24, 1973 to Ted & Sue Dalton in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her parents brought their long-awaited pink bundle of joy home to two older brothers who did not know how to handle their wild, free-spirited little sister. Dione rode her bike (a dirt bike, of course) with abandon through her childhood neighborhood. No one could keep up with her-her bike crashes are still talked about-with road rash and pieces of asphalt in her palms and knees, she would get up and keep on riding. Dione was unstoppable: a fish in the water who could easily take down both of her brothers in the pool. When she dove in, they would panic and jump out as quickly as possible. She may have been the baby of the family, but with her adventurous spirit and quick wit, she was never left behind.

She excelled at everything she put her mind to: she helped build a multi-million dollar company and travelled the world. She loved hard. Dione was an avid reader, lover of rom-coms, and expert on dark chocolate. She had a soft spot for animals and anyone who felt lonely. Her strong will and kind heart made her the perfect advocate for anyone in need. There were a special few who Dione let see her vulnerable side - a very lucky few.

The love of Dione's life was her daughter Kate. Her true-life "mini me," Kate gave Dione a source of immense joy and purpose. Dione adored watching Kate dance in competitions. Their "girl days" were the best days Dione spent on this earth. Time with Kate was what kept her going and possibly gave her the courage to stay here as long as she did.

Dione is survived by her parents Ted and Sue Dalton (and will always be the light of their lives); her brothers Kelly Dalton (Tonia Dalton); and Scott Dalton (Christina Dalton). Her nephews and niece; Jake Dalton, Collin Dalton, Max Dalton, Luke Dalton, Christian Quayle, and Reese Cerruti (Dominic Cerruti). Her partner Gregory Dodd, who stayed with her until her last breath. The father of her daughter, Brett Magleby. Dione will be missed the most by her beautiful daughter, Kate Magleby.

The curtain may have closed for you in this life little sis. We can't wait to see you for the next act. It is sure to be a wild ride

To the whole Dalton family, I am so sad for your loss.
I remember Dione as the cute little curly haired blonde with rosy cheeks who was always tagging along with her older brothers and other older kids in the neighborhood playing in the dirt, catching grasshoppers, etc. She was the most adorable little tomboy.
I pray for comfort and peace for your family & her friends knowing she´s free, in a beautiful place & you will see her again. God Bless you!

My condolences to the family. The Daltons were my second family I spent the better part of my childhood at their home which was always full of laughs and love. I am so grateful to have known such a great family and made friends for life. We did what big brothers do we teased and made the girls act like deer so we could shoot our home made bows and arrows (padded with toilet paper) I am surprise nobody lost an eye. I will cherish these memories and of Dione she was special person beautiful and kind you will be missed

I was blessed to grow up alongside the Daltons, always looking up to Ricky as my big brother. Oh Dione, our childhood was a treasure trove of unforgettable moments. We rode bikes, survived crashes, and explored the neighborhood together. Our night games were the stuff of legend. Though life took us in different directions, you'll forever hold a piece of my heart. I'm still in awe that you're no longer with us. I'll continue to hold dear the memories we created. My heart goes out to Ted, Sue, and the brothers. You'll always be loved and cherished. May your soul find eternal peace. Love you

I had the pleasure of growing up across the street from the Dalton family, this was the main gathering point for all of us neighbor kids, this is where we planned our day from playing basketball, riding dirt bikes to playing the chase game. The memories I have knowing Dione her whole life are the greatest anybody could ask for, You may be gone but not forgotten.
Much love to Dione and the entire Dalton family.
