Nancy, Nick, Ryan and Ana,
There is an emptiness in our hearts since we have lost "Little Bro", but the wonderful memories will fill that emptiness as we accept that he is gone.
John: From childhood many people said whenever you would see John there was Nick. I love you "Bro" and will miss you forever. Marcia:
Nick made me laugh at his jokes and loved the ones I would save for him from my e-mail buddies. I will always keep the candy dish full for him. I, too, will always remember the good times with all of you.
You have been blessed with such a loving, powerful and strong husband, father and grandfather.
Think good thoughts and know we love all of you.
Uncle John and Aunt Marcia.

The first day Nick started work as Business Agent for Asbestos Workers Local No. 69 I had an instant friend, and that friendship lasted for 30 years. I will always remember the many social occasions with Nick, Marilee Albretsen, his secretary; Steve Richins, my boss; Mike Rogers of the Pipe Fitters and his secretary Judy Barnett; Grant Voss of the Roofers Union, John Fassio of the Asbestos Workers, Wayne Holland of the Steel Workers, Charlie Rodarte of the Bricklayers and his secretary Juanita and the many other people in the labor movement who loved and respected him for the way he cared about his fellow union members. Nick was the type of person you loved being around with his always upbeat attitude and that wonderful special laugh of his. When you saw Nick in the morning. your day got better. After Nick retired most of us kept in touch with him, and even after I retired and moved to Las Vegas I kept in touch with him. We always called each other on our birthdays. I have lost one of my dearest friends, and my heart is broken.

Nancy, Nick loved you with all his heart, and I am so glad he had you, and you were always a good friend to me as well. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family at this time. My memories of Nick will stay with me always.

The Nick Barber family are in our thoughts and prayers. I was priviledged to know and call Nick my FRIEND. He and I shared great times together out of town on projects and as roommates. What a wonderful sense of humor he had and was so much fun to be around. He represented our union so well as the Business Agent. I once told Nick that he was "revered". He said "when I find out what that means you are in trouble". To me he was revered. I am very saddened to lose such a great friend. Much love from Jeff and Peggy Rowland

Aunt Nancy, Nick, Ryan, Cindy, Anamarie & Marvin,

We are very sorry for the loss of your husband and father. Uncle Nick was a funny, kind and intelligent man. I loved to hear stories of your vacations and concert experiences. I remember as a young girl seeing Uncle Junior's beautiful blue eyes and thinking that we had our very own Frank Sinatra in our family. I truly feel that Uncle Junior lived life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you.

Nick was a true friend and mentor to me since I worked for him in 1968 at Allied Chemical in Green River, Wyoming. He treated everyone with fairness and honesty. His sense of humor and “gift of gab” brought hours of entertainment to me and others. Thanks to his excellent negotiation skills, he improved the working conditions for his union brothers and sisters in Local 69. Nicky, we will miss you.

Aunt Nancy, Nick, Ryan and Anna Marie
22 years ago I received the blessing of being included in one of the funniest, warm and loving families around. When I married Brent I not only married his immediate family but also all the joy and laughter of the extended family. It was such a wonderful gift and each and every person of this great family is unique and special in their own way. Uncle Nick was the blue eyed uncle with the infectious laugh and his family is a direct result of this. It has been a blessing and a gift to be a part of this wonderful family. Know that Uncle Nick is sharing a bowl of spaget with Uncle Gene,Kelsey
and all the Family and friends that are celebrating his arrival. May God comfort all of you.

It is with great sorrow that I learned of the passing of Nick. I had the privilege of working with Nick on many projects throughout the region.

He was a craftsman who cared about his work. And he worked hard at keeping the standards high. He cared about his family and during the many working hours he would talk about his beautiful wife Nancy and the adventures of his children. He would talk about his brothers and sisters and the love they had for each other.

He enjoyed a good joke and his booming laugh could be heard all over the job sites.

He cared for his union and did his best to represent and assist the members.

Working with him was always an adventure and a pleasure. He will be missed.

It is with sadness that I heard about my Uncle Nick's death. I remember as a little girl sitting at the Barber dinner table having him look at me with his big blue eyes and bellering "How's MaryAnno"! Oh, how I would tremble. Yet in his presence I always felt safe! To my cousins, Nick, Ryan, and Ana, I love you and send to you thoughts of light. To my wonderful Aunt Nancy, may you know how much sitting at that dinner table meant to me.
