GEORGE PLATT

George Platt Richfield, Utah George Alma Platt, 93, of Richfield, Utah, passed away peacefully March 6, 2010 at the Community Living Center in Centerfield.He was born February 27, 1917 at Mountain Meadows in Southern Utah, the third son of Joseph and Clarissa Leavitt Platt. He moved to Richfield at the age of 10 where he resided the remainder of his life. George is survived by his eight children: Hazel (Wayne) James, Ken (Artoise) Platt, Janice (Lee) Helquist, Jolene (Ron) Sherman, Eugene (Doreen) Platt, Todd (Jan) Platt, Rick (Wendy) Platt, Tereasa (DeLaun) Humphries; 48 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his eternal companion; parents; brothers, Eugene, Roland, Gordon, Darwin and Denzil; sisters, Josephine Burd and Mary Ellen Frame; grandchildren: Sherry Coon, Scott Sherman, Aaron Platt; and great-grandson, James McIlrath. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield East Stake Center, 800 N. 500 E. Friends may call Friday, March 12, from 6-8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary, 50 S. 100 W, Richfield; and again Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with military rites by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and Utah Honor Guard. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
