Dear Cindy and Family,

I am so sorry to learn of Gus' passing. I found him charming and had fun talking to him. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet him and know him, even for this short time. Love, Sally Kershisnik

Gus taught me a lot of things while we were in the National Guard together. We had a lot of fun, usually at the expense of others. Gus was always willing to help others and would do anything he could to help. Gus would bring a joke to drill Saturday morning that his wife would share from her work as he was trying to wake up and get ready for drill weekend.

It was a pleasure working with Gus at TxDOT. I learned a lot about two-way radio systems from Gus when he was at the TxDOT Brownwood and El Paso TxDOT District Offices.
I enjoyed the twinkle in his eyes and loved some of the fun stuff that he would pull off.

I'm so sad to hear that Gus passed away. He was such a kind and friendly man. I worked with Gus in Austin on the I-183A Toll Road Project for HNTB in 2005 and 2006. I continued to receive email from him for years after I left Texas. He just wanted to say hi. He was like that. I don't think he ever met anyone he didn't like or try to reach out to. The world lost a truely lovely man.

Gus,
I will miss your persistent teasing, that twinkle in your eye and the tilt of your head when you pursed your lips and scooted them to one side of your face. I won't forget your confident large stature, that was dwarfed by your sweet Southern charm. But most of all, I will miss our political bantering, (you weren't such a bad guy for a Republican). God speed, my friend. Sandee

My wife Traci and I offer our sincerest condolences on the passing of Gus Morgan.
It was my pleasure to have had the opportuntity to not only know Gus, but to have worked with him, learned from him, and shared in his great humor. Then add in the fact that he always had a story that he was reminded of. While I can appreciate why a family member would affectionally call him 'Grumpy", Gus had great knowledge in many areas, and although it is hard to imagine, Gus had a strong opinion on many things.
Gus and his knowledge base will be missed. His humor too, will be missed. I feel as though I am a more capable and educated employee due to Gus and his ability/willingness to share some of his knowledge. God speed Gus, you will be missed.
